Michael Hardick- Visual Artist

FLM- Where are you from?

Originally from Buffalo NY. We just moved to Atlanta 9 months ago (Spring-March)

FLM- How would you describe your art?

I always say our art is “art on top of art”. I say this because we’re using furniture, dressers, water coolers, stoves, etc.

FLM- What was your experience like when you first began doing your artwork?

It was a place of where I could believe in me. Be comfortable. Be at peace

FLM- Describe to us your creative process, how do you get in your zone?

For the most part I’m always in the zone. I’m one of those people where I’m always thinking of up cycling, design, color concepts. I can’t help it sometimes. If I have a specific project in mind, then I will do some research on the subject and the rest falls into place.

FLM- What are you bringing to the world that it doesn't have right now?

We’re creating one of one art pieces with other artists around the world. As far as I know, we’re the only ones doing this.

FLM- Who or what inspires you artistically?

There are so many. I will name a few thou. My daughter Ava, SquatDeadFace, KipDaFog, Sam Evans Art, Kightek, Isaac Pelayo, lil dead boi.

FLM- Where has your career taken you so far?

My career is just starting. Honestly can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.

FLM- How would you describe your creative style?

I wouldn’t say I have a creative style. I get an idea and figure out how to create it. I’m not afraid to go out and ask for help/info. Prolly why a lot of my projects are collabs.

FLM- What are some other hobbies or interest of yours?

I’m in construction so I love building, remodeling, designing homes. When I’m not with the family, I’m on the beltline on my bike with the homies

FLM- Who have you collaborated with so far?

I feel like I’ve collaborated with some heavy hitters already. KipDaFog, Sam Evans Art, SquatDeadFace, Kightek, Unkwnzj, lil dead boi, and fcknxtwk

FLM- Who do you want to work with in the future?

There are so many. One of them is on the cover of this magazine. Pop Basel. Would also love to frame a piece for Isaac Pelayo. Freakorico is high on that list as well.

FLM- Any projects that we should be on the lookout for?

Yes. Currently working on a piece called “the last supper”, a 40bear, which is our first teddy bear project. Also a custom large sneaker box for all my sneaker heads out there.
