How Creative Systems Make Sense

We interact with the world through our 5 senses. Sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste connect us with the world around us. We connect with the visual beauty of our world through sight and touch. Not only do we observe the beauty of the world through sight and touch, but we also contribute to it in a similar way. Through the work of creative systems, our sight and touch senses actively participate in making the world beautiful.

The Creative Systems of Fashion and Architecture

Creative systems help design the clothes we wear and the homes we live in. For this conversation we will focus on the creative systems of fashion and architectural design. Fashion design covers the body. Similarly architectural design covers empty space. Creativity pushes both fashion and architecture beyond their basic functions of just covering. We find more pleasure when fashion and architecture are expressed through design systems. We feel the pleasure in our sight in touch senses as we experience creative systems through shared design systems.

The Observation and Creation from Design

The design systems of both fashion and architecture are unity, balance, movement, rhythm, focus, contrast, pattern, and proportion. These design systems can also be referred to as elements of composition. Creative systems are observed and created using design systems. With sight and touch we create with fabrics and building material by following a design system. We observe and create for the world we live in using creative systems connected to design systems. And our sense find pleasure in observing and creating what we see in the beauty of the world around us.
